MOUNT MORRIS, N.Y.—The William Smith College cross country team finished fifth out of 19 teams at the Mike Woods Invitational hosted by Geneseo today. First-year Riley Poisson once again led the Herons, placing eighth out of 232 runners.

On Tuesday, April 24, the William Smith Athletic Department presented the Susan Bassett Award, the Evaleen C. Harrison '19 Award, the Melissa Muliken '80 Award and the Dean's Award at the annual Heron Awards Banquet.
The William Smith College cross country team was named a 2017 NCAA Division III All-Academic Team by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The Herons have earned this award for 25 years in a row.
